“It’s TIME TO LEAD indeed…” Here is @saladinug GM, Mr. @jasirommel who led by example & took today’s first blood pressure reading after our talk on how to #ActOnNCDs The team thought because Rommel is the oldest, he would have questionable readings - A MYTH he dispelled

Influencers are GOOD PEOPLE TOO!!! More than once, I’ve seen posts (and overheard boardroom whispers) ridiculing influencers: They’re lazy. They’re inconsistent. They’re not professional. They can’t be trusted with timelines or deliverables. They don’t create original content. Scroll enough, and you’d think Uganda has no credible influencers at all. But just like a glass that looks half empty to some, I choose to see it as half full. At @saladinug 18th anniversary, the Group CEO "Lenny Nganga" took a moment to recognize influencers who’ve walked alongside the agency over the years. Suprising RIGHT? Here's my take: I’ve personally watched the influencer market in Uganda grow since 2017, from simple poster retweets to full-blown skits, storytelling, and community-driven content. Think @mkiboneka (videography & satire), Tracy Nkwanzi (storytelling), @MethiaLydiaN (relatable lifestyle), @victoria_nyanzi (LinkedIn thought leadership), and even lesser-known gems like @rbalamaga (KING of food) So why would an agency celebrate influencers, while the wider market keeps dragging them? Because brands aren’t in the business of knowing which influencer will actually deliver. AGENCIES ARE!!! Of course, not everyone we call an “influencer” today deserves the title. But that doesn’t erase the fact that when managed well, influencers have driven some of the most impactful campaigns we’ve seen in this market. How should agencies and brands source influencers? (I’ll drop the process in the comments.) My advice to brands? Stop throwing shade when what you really lack is proper influencer management skills. Most of these talents don’t set out to be “influencers.” They set out to create content that resonates. Managing that transition into paid work requires guidance, structure, and skills. Agencies exist for this very reason. Now let me ask you: who are some of the best influencers you’ve worked with, across any platform? Here in Uganda?... or WORST? 😅

back from the @RwenzoriMarathn Marathon and boy, do I have a series… This one is too big for a single post. I’ll break it down into a 6 part series (oh, it’s going to be ACTION PACKED) 📌 DISCLAIMER: If you want a recap of the marathon itself, check the official run page on Instagram. In fact, I think that page is a strong contender for a #SilverbackAwards25 because the content team killed it… (cc: @wekesa_amos) On my page, you’ll find something different: MY EXPERIENCE. Which in this case, is also the Kasese experience. Here’s the truth: this run impacts more than just runners & sponsors. It touches boda guys, street vendors, lodge owners, party freaks, even that lady who rents out spare rooms when accommodation runs out. For years, I’ve been an advocate for @NyegeNyegeFest in Jinja, because I’ve seen firsthand how that festival transforms Jinja. Before I officially start my career in “marathoning,” I wanted to do the same impact assessment in Kasese. I reached out to #UBL for an invite & thanks to Hillary, Denise, and Caroline, I got the chance to tag along... #KaseseEP1 of 6… Let me tell you this. There are two types of people who go for this marathon: The Runners & the Party Freaks. I proudly fall into category 2, & the party began in the bus from Kampala, didn’t stop until we reached Kasese. We arrived at 4AM, just as the 42KM runners were setting off. We couldn’t get accommodation anywhere in Kasese so the @saladinug team connected us to a local in Kasese, who gave us her whole house for the entire weekend… Pause for a bit… Did you attend the #TuskerliteRwenzoriMarathon? What was the best part about your experience? 🤔
