Re: WH pausing federal grants and loans, I asked Rep. Rich McCormick if he'd support getting rid of school lunches for his constituents. He tells me high school kids who receive free/reduced lunches "are capable of going out and actually getting a job" instead of "sponging off the government." NOTE: This freeze would also impact much younger students who are not of working age.

@mizzoumalek23 @josh_metcalf That’s my hometown, Morehead. It’s got the only reliably Dem voting precincts in EKY since 2016. It’s a small college town. Home to Morehead State University. It keeps Rowan County as the least red EKY county (still roughly around 60% GOP at presidential level though).

It's still bonkers to me that the eastern Kentucky coalfields are *still* 10-15 points bluer than the surrounding rural counties. Vestiges of a long-dead political apparatus, 8 years into the Trump era

If you’re a Democrat in any blue state or blue city, number one on your list of politicians to primary out of office over the next 6 years are Democrats who block the expansion of housing. Unaffordable/unavailable housing can lead to very bad results on a host of issues

Tester has no business doing *this* well at this stage in the race. The Sheehy debate definitely helped, but he's still going to need to go all out

Never thought of it but yeah, at a Senate level, this is close. Missouri is R+11 after house effects, while Nevada is D+9.

Back from my yearly pilgrimage to visit the largest salamanders in the Americas. There is no other feeling like watching a massive hellbender crawl along the bottom of the stream as the current causes its loose skin to flutter. Like being transported to a different time.

Finished our polling averages for every Senate race in the country (that we have data for).
Weighted for sample size, pollster quality, population (LV vs RV) and recency. We'll probably do a piece on this, but in the meantime, give me a race and I can tell you what it says.
