PDA has been viciously attacked by autistic people on Twitter now for years. It seems Milton's Double Empathy theory has failed to signpost some autistics to respect neurotypes they don't understand

Been thinking about PDA a lot lately due to @Richard_Autism. I once accepted this concept as I recognised its proposed traits in myself & family. But now thinking it feels wrong to define a person by stress responses, as "pathologically" demand avoidant. What do others think?

@autismotherland @Richard_Autism @cassie_davies @Planet_Autism @milton_damian My perspective: DA is not pathological. DA is a subconscious stress avoidance defence mechanism which may become less selective should the previously experienced traumas not been conscioulsy traced back and resolved. Until PTSD isn't resolved, the non-selective aspect remains.
