@Trumpsawanka They can’t easily replace kerosene in old homes that aren’t able to get HLI down enough and we are going to run a surplus of over 3 billion this year.

A reminder that Jet kerosene used for planes has no mineral tax charged but yet we are told by Government the can’t lower the tax on kerosene used for home heating oil…

@pigeonbutler Sure but why does that mean we can’t reduce tax on kerosene for home heating oil when we have a huge increase due to war.

@saloreilly How much extra revenue do you think could be gained from taxing it? Net of second order effects like airlines refuelling elsewhere, or unviable routes being cancelled with attendant job losses. There are reasons for exemptions like this.

@saloreilly Jet can refuel anywhere so if it's taxed, it kills hundreds of jobs overnight.
