@saintjavelin In the folkore of my corner of Europe, storks travel and communicate between this world and the otherworld both ways, they help the souls find their way (both the newborns and the deceased).
English

A stork appeared during the farewell of a Ukrainian defender.
We hear this a lot in Ukraine - people say storks often show up at funerals, especially for fallen soldiers.
I’m not someone who believes in signs, but it’s hard to ignore how symbolic it feels. A bird that represents life showing up at a goodbye.

Not that farfetched since @HavryshkoMarta literally just posted the same controversial "Breaking Point" anti-EU propaganda poster Farage used when he was campaigning for Brexit

Mother of god.
This is already nothing short of a colossal and humiliating slap in Putin’s face.
Russia has ultimately lost Armenia as part of its sphere of influence, and this is far from the end.

Arrived in Yerevan to take part in the European Political Community Summit. Many meetings ahead. The key priority is more security and coordination for all of us. Glory to Ukraine!

Incredible story of survival by a Ukrainian corporal who had to manipulate his russian captor to survive 🇺🇦
"As a teenager he had read books on psychology, and Nikita, he discovered, was a drug addict and petty criminal who had been freed from jail to fight in Ukraine."

@vynnychurak @orange_capybara @moranamarzanna @ofkaradag ok, found something, maybe this was the article. The wording is very close to what you remembered:
"women being told by Russian soldiers while they were being assaulted: “We will rape you until you won’t want to see men any more.”"

A Russian woman is going viral posting anti-Putin rants, today saying that the money they spend on war for a single day could fix the teeth of every pensioner in Russia, and that she doesn't need Ukraine and isn't giving her son's to "Putin's ass" just to come home in a bodybag.
The woman then wishes the people of Ukraine "good health".

@wilendhornets @support just to clarify, supporting Ukraine is now a lockable offense and "violent speech" on X but russia supporter Freakyhitler69's rape threats aren't?

To all those urging Ukraine to enter peace talks with russia — please, take a close look at this photo.
This is Grozny, the capital of Chechnya. In 1999, it was reduced to rubble by russian forces — just three years after russia signed a peace treaty with Chechnya.
Russia couldn’t win the war, so it took a break — only to come back and destroy the country, killing hundreds of thousands of Chechens.
The only language russia understands is the language of force. They must be decisively defeated. Otherwise, the world will remain at the mercy of an evil empire, ready to attack any country, at any time.

@SpaghettiKozak @LibertyCappy not unpopular enough if you ask me
English

@LibertyCappy It's unpopular because it's incredibly stupid and betrays a total lack of knowledge or understanding of russia.
