I think a lot of people struggle to separate the two and it's very unfortunate because it often leads to unnecessary arguments. Liking a ship and not wanting it to be canon/acknowledging that it wouldn't be healthy or like a good plot within canon are two things that can coexist

You know that just because I ship two characters that doesn't mean every drawing I make of them together is ship art, right? It's very important to me that you know that! Shipping is a lot of fun but I will always prefer and dedicate art to the canon dynamics <3
