@saltushomo @LlK3WHAT This is a picture where many ppl are holding Katara back, one of them is Aang. There's also many people holding Zuko back, one of them Ozai. The claim that this image equates imperialists and their victims is reductive bc it's about neither of them. Pure instrumentalization.

Portraying Aang the sole survivor of a genocide to be as aggressive as ozai who imperialized the other nations and mocked his race, drawing an indigenous woman getting her hair pulled and being in a “toxic relationship” , zutaras genuinely hate indigenous ppl so damn bad

forbidden love is a popular trope and while people are free to headcanon or draw what they want but so much of that creative expression always involved vilifying aang/katara and realistically this is the common mindset of zutara fandom for years
