The late Duke AD, Tom Butters, arguably the best AD in ACC history, once said ... "A good AD never fires a coach unless he already has a commitment from a better coach." UNC AD Bubba Cunningham should have heeded Tom's advice (relative to firing basketball coach Hubert Davis).

When asked by a Cambridge student how he generated such engaging speeches, Winston Churchill replied:
“A good speech should be like a woman’s skirt ... long enough to cover the subject but short enough to create interest."
A classic Winston Churchill 'retort' ...
A smart aleck to Churchill after seeing him exit a bathroom without washing his hands ... "At Eton, they taught us to wash our hands after using the toilet."

At a London conservative cocktail party in 1939, Lady Nancy Astor quipped to Churchill, "Winston, if I were your wife, I'd put poison in your tea."
Churchill immediately replied, "Lady Astor, if you were my wife, I'd drink it."
