There have been alot of posts I made here that give voice to certain political ideologies (e.g. Accelerationism, Nazism) that I no longer want to associate with for the sake of my faith. I do not wish to quit this social media, and I will continue to post

Pearls before swine. People should be required to argue in good faith for us to engage with them. Proverbs is extremely clear that arguing with a fool makes you a fool. And any Protestant or Catholic who does the same with Orthodox being rude in their comments is also being wise. "Do not trade your peace for anything in this world." St Isaac the Syrian

Fr Paul preached a sermon today about how getting riled up by social media wounds our souls. Im going to try my best to simply start blocking people who clearly cope. Posting in their replies only feeds their validation (and their reach), and it doesn't help my soul either.

A mother's tears turned out to be stronger than the bullets. She didn’t sleep at night... so her children could wake up alive. The "Great" Patriotic War had begun. They should have stopped it. They took my dad and my two brothers to the frontline when my brothers were in their freshman year. My mother prayed day and night. Because there was no temple nearby, she walked twenty kilometers from Borisogleb to Rostov the Great every month. She often shared this dream: "Your prayer will go around the world and it will come back to you."It was all happening right before our eyes. I was about nine years old, my younger brother was seven, and my sister was thirteen (she is now ninety-eight and still alive). I say this because we all experienced it in our childhood—hunger and everything else. My mother prayed and cried day and night. She wouldn't let go of the Psalter, cried before our eyes, and made us pray. She even took me to the temple in Rostov the Great for twenty kilometers on foot to receive the Holy Mysteries of Christ. She guided us on the way to salvation. So, what happened? The words spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ were fulfilled. My two brothers took different roads to the front and ended up all the way in Germany. This is something unheard of in history: two blood brothers to be on the frontline for four years and finally meet. This is how powerful prayer is, especially the shedding of tears, because my mother didn't sleep at night; she prayed and repented. My brothers wrote in every letter from the front, "Mom, your prayers keep us safe. Pray and light a candle." They wanted spiritual help from the frontlines. This is the strength of our Orthodox Church and of our Holy Russia. Now, who is praying for our soldiers standing in the trenches? There is no one. They are left to the will of fate, as if they are unnecessary to anyone—as if the Lord is clearing them out like something unwanted, like weeds that interfere with the wheat. That's why I am talking about it again. I've said it before, and now I remind everyone: until Russia is cleansed of its sinful weeds, the war will not stop. Repent, repent, repent! Unite yourself with Christ, and pray. Especially you, pastors of the Church, must call people to repentance. Amen. Father Kensorin (Fyodorov)

Do not be discouraged when you see some rebelling against you. It would be worse if everyone loved you: that means that you are a people-pleaser. Christ was also hated and crucified. So how can we expect universal love if we are following in Christ’s footsteps?Ensure that your conscience is clear, and be afraid not of human hatred, but of the hatred in your own soul. The profound sufferings endured by nearly 750,000 Serbian Orthodox Christians during the Second World War. The twentieth century witnessed the crowning of a multitude of martyrs. Following the Bolshevik revolution, Holy Russia alone gave the Orthodox Church millions of new heavenly intercessors and champions of the faith—a sacrifice well known to the entire Orthodox world. Unfortunately, many Orthodox Christians remain unaware of the profound sufferings endured by nearly 750,000 Serbian Orthodox Christians during the Second World War. These faithful gave their lives defending and confessing their faith within the territories of the so-called "Independent State of Croatia" and other parts of German-occupied Yugoslavia. They perished at the hands of Croatian nationalists and other enemies of the Orthodox Church, often with the instigation and open participation of the Latin clergy. This persecution was explicitly aimed at the complete eradication of the Orthodox Church in these regions. Attempts at forced conversion to Roman Catholicism were paired with the systematic, overt destruction of every trace of Orthodoxy. The violence was carried out with such fierce, inconceivable brutality, in such a short span of time, and across such a relatively small geographic area that it defies the imagination. Indeed, the scale and nature of this recent persecution are virtually unprecedented in Church history since the trials of the first centuries. The sacrifice and memory of these Serbian martyrs must not remain hidden or known only to their countrymen; their witness should be shared and commemorated for the edification of all Orthodox Christians. It was in Croatia and Bosnia that the worst atrocities were committed against the Serbs by the Ustaše and the Roman Catholics. On April 28, 1941, the Roman Catholic Archbishop Stepinac of Zagreb issued an appeal rapturously praising the Ustaše and calling on all Roman Catholic priests to collaborate with them. Three days before, the government had banned the Cyrillic script and imposed a special tax on the patriarchate. On May 8–10, the Serbs in Zagreb were expelled to the suburbs and forbidden from leaving their homes before six in the evening. On June 3, all Orthodox schools and kindergartens were closed, and on June 26, all Serbs were forced to wear colored armbands with the letter “P” (for Pravoslavac – Orthodox). On July 18, the use of the term “Serbian Orthodox religion” was banned; in its place, “Eastern Greek faith” was to be substituted. On August 9, services were banned in all Orthodox churches. On June 22, the minister of education said that one-third of the Serbs in Croatia would be expelled, one-third killed, and one-third converted to Catholicism. In July, the arrests of Serbs began. By the autumn, over 15,000 Serbs had passed through the camps, and by 1943, there were 300,000 Serbian refugees from Croatia in Serbia. On April 4, 1942, the Croatians passed a law ordering all Church feasts to be celebrated according to the new calendar. The Russian émigrés were informed of this and were threatened with punishment if they did not obey. Metropolitan Anastasy, however, immediately petitioned for an exception to be made for the Russian parishes, and with the help of the German Evangelical Bishop Hackel, this request was granted. However, no Serb was allowed to visit the émigré services. Joachim Wertz writes: “In many villages the massacres followed a certain pattern. The Ustashi would arrive and assemble all the Serbs. They would then order them to convert to Roman Catholicism. Those who refused, as the majority did, were told to assemble in their local Orthodox parish church. They would then lock them in the church and set it ablaze. In this manner many Orthodox men, women and children perished in scores of Serbian settlements.”….
