Time has a price. In TradFi, it's the risk-free rate. In Bitcoin credit markets, it's whatever lenders demand to lock up collateral for a fixed term. Gavel's auction mechanism discovers that price without an oracle telling you what it should be.

@sam__3331 Oracle lag is just latency. The real issue is penalty extraction happens in a single atomic liquidation tx. Auctions spread liquidation over 24h, so penalty gets competed away across multiple bidders rather than captured by one MEV bot in block N+1.

Most Bitcoin lending protocols liquidate at oracle prices that can deviate 5-15% from spot. On Gavel, lenders bid for your collateral at auction if you default. Market price, not feed price. Your Bitcoin gets fair value even in the worst case.
