@Loriss65 I’ll pay you a hundred thousand dollars if you can kill bitcoin in the next month. Rekt Bitcoin so nobody wants it, render it under $100/unit, by July of this date. I’ll pay you a hundred thousand USD if this happens. What will you pay me if not?

Governments and corporations want you to believe that verifying your age on the internet is harmless. Three hacktivists have now exposed that we are sold as software to protect the children is in reality the most powerful tool for extrajudicial persecution on the planet. Every click, every post, every profile you have on the internet is analyzed and evaluated. Pictures of your face, subjected to over 250 verification checks, compared to watchlists via facial recognition, and stored for up to 3 years on some central server, along with your IP address, device, and browser fingerprint. And with its integrated financial reporting that the software provides to financial institutions, banks now have direct access to scan your entire online life – and report you to the government. This combination is not coincidental, and it can do a lot more than just land you on a watchlist. When the same software to surveil you online is used to determine whether you can have a bank account, one wrong post on social media can have you lose your home, your job, your savings, and your life. There once was a regime that perfected the use of banks for political persecution. It did not end well for those who dared to speak their minds. Dystopian is too weak of a word to describe the future we are heading towards.

🚨NEW: HACKERS EXPOSE AGE-VERIFICATION SOFTWARE POWERING SURVEILLANCE WEB Three hacktivists tried to find a workaround to Discord’s age-verification software. Instead, they found its frontend exposed to the open internet, bundling financial reporting with facial recognition tech. For the first time, they lay bare what is really behind a software serving age-verification laws – and why such technology is far from harmless. We spoke with the researchers that exposed the software, who hope that their findings will serve as a wakeup call.

@JOKAQARMY1 I think this is the guy that has a youtube vid about ET's, andromedans and what not, don't remember much about that, but do still remember that question, which has stuck since it's a damn truthbomb.

@Printer_Gobrrr 10 sats on no difference, or marginally better (that one share submitted 100 miliseconds after a found network block by the wifi unit). That said, a > netdiff hash will certainly matter sent 283 miliseconds faster.

I'm going to keep shitposting through the nightshift and tomorrow, we're going to compare shares of the two miners. If it's that significant, I think we should see more shares submitted by the hardwired unit in the same amount of time.

Ok, check it out this is awesome. Two identical NerdQaxe++ are connected to the same network, one via WiFi, the other one uses the NerdLAN Adapter + W5500 Module. WiFi NQaxe++ ping: 287ms Ethernet NQaxe++ ping: 4ms 🤯 That's a far more significant improvement than expected.

The Ethereum whitepaper was published 12 years ago today. Ethereum changed the course of crypto by giving builders greater tools - including a Turing complete language! Shoutout to @VitalikButerin, the Ethereum co-founders, and the entire Ethereum community. So many of the products responsible for where our industry is today wouldn’t have happened without your vision.

@nfinf5 @lauriewired Still a useful tip to format a smaller partition than there's space in the drive, for users not paying attention to used space, unlike some nerds that df -h on a daily basis *cough*.

Leaving a fraction of the disk unformatted will do absolutely nothing for endurance. That’s just not how overprovisioning works. It happens on the internal storage controller level, and that controller has no idea what is formatted and what isn’t. Windows does know that, but it won’t use the unformatted part for wear leveling etc.

Pro-Tip, you can turn your crummy “consumer” SSD (mostly) into an enterprise drive by formatting it correctly. You can easily get 10x endurance by giving up ~5% of space. Crucial MX500 1TB: 0.2 DWPD Micron 5300 PRO 960GB (same NAND!): 1.5 DWPD

@maxkeiser If 10 million people would, hash-odds would change from 1 to 1.1 billion now to 1 to 1.11 billion. I don't think a lottery compares, as those numbers/odds are fixed opposed to (near?) infinite hashes. Your bitaxe could run for eons and not hit a block, or 1 second and do.
