20 years ago, when Arsenal played in the Champions League final, I was just a teenager, but I felt everything. I cried. I felt sick after the loss… I couldn’t even write my WAEC exam the following day. That’s how much it meant. Now, 20 years later, I’m in a better place, Arsenal are back in the Champions League final. Same club, same love… but a different ending awaits. This feels poetic. This feels like destiny. This time, it ends in victory. I love this club ❤️.

Man, y’all have no idea how Arteta’s success will be a big win for me personally. I opened my Twitter in 2012 with the name Zikoterta because I was given Terta as a nickname in my boarding school hostel cause I was so excited when we signed Arteta as a player. Feels like destiny as I’ve been rooting for Arteta since we signed him as a player and even more when we signed him as a manager. Through ups and downs I’ve supported him and he has been more than a manager but a leader, a father and a culture changing icon. Words can’t explain my love and joy for Mikel Arteta. I don't like it when people (fans, managers, players, etc) complicate football more than it needs to be. A defensive full back should be mostly used in defensive situations, not the high half-space (Jurriën Timber). An orchestrator should be allowed to roam into any space he can receive and orchestrate from, deep or high (Martin Ødegaard). A high left-space operator should mostly be used in those spaces, both high left wing and high left half-space (Eberechi Eze). A striker that likes to drop deep and facilitate should be paired with a runner striker, winger, or wingers (GiroudxMbappe, FirminoxSalah, Havertz/Gabriel JesusxMartinelli, DembelexBarcola). A runner striker should be paired a creative attacker/winger or attackers/wingers (KDB/CherkixHaaland, BrunoxSesko, Trossard/ØdegaardxGyökeres). Of course, there will be exceptions to the rule, but generally speaking, these are facets of play that should be adhered to. Football, at its core, is simple.

1. Anyone bashing Saka to defend Gyökeres is stupid. Anyone bashing Gyökeres to defend Saka is stupid. Saka has been better than the fanbase thinks this season, but his finishing has been bad. Gyökeres started out rough but has been delivering in 2026 in his finishing. Saka is comfortably our best attacker. 2. Arsenal have won 1.5 points per game in 9 EPL games without Gyökeres as the starting striker. In the other 24 EPL games he has started in, we've averaged 2.3 points. The notion that he is detrimental to us winning in or we are winning 'despite him' is fantastic fiction. 3. In the EPL, Gyökeres has more goals (12) than Saka has goals + assists (6+3 = 9) and Gyökeres has played less minutes (1996 minutes for Gyökeres, 2001 minutes for Saka). And this is in the Premier League, his worst competition this season (he averages a better G/A per 90 ratio in other cups vs in the EPL).

Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Calafiori have been included in the squad for the Newcastle fixture tomorrow. Remains to be seen if they make the official matchday team sheet.
