I think NELFUND should be scrapped. Since we all want a system where only those who can afford school upfront get educated, or one where opportunity is never extended, even if repayment comes later. That LAUTECH boy is a practical example of what access can do. Talent exists everywhere, but opportunity does not. Schemes like this attempt to close that gap. Nobody is saying NELFUND is perfect. No public policy ever is at the early stage. But dismissing it outright simply because it is a loan misses the bigger picture.

Multilevel marketing.

I drove to Abeokuta and back to Lagos today to attend to some briefs— went to petition the court to dissolve a matrimonial home (acting on client's behalf), unannounced visit to a commercial property we're managing on behalf of a client etc. And I realized that the benefits of good governance in the development of a nation/state CANNOT be overemphasized. The government (irrespective of the level) is saddled with the "utmost responsibility" of driving drastic, timebound, realistic and honest changes in a society (which will reflect in the standard of living of its people) before other stakeholders such as private sectors, philanthropists, NGOs etc contribute their own quota. In a nutshell, socio-economic changes starts and ends at the foot of the government– it's either they find a blueprint to make it work or not.

And the Chief Operating Officer of the company was excited that I was around to attend to some grey issues that they have been dealing with silently. I used to scrape the internet looking for voices in the data privacy space. Turns out, I became one. I've known about Favikon since 2025, but I only logged last week to add my profiles to it. Thanks to Coach Taiwo of 50 Circle & Co. for the push. Guess what? I currently rank as the No. 1 Creator on X and LinkedIn Nigeria for the Privacy and IP Law category.🎉 My first instinct was to keep it quiet. I've been sitting on wins for the past eight months without saying a word. Thanks for litigation take the bulk of my time. My second instinct was to call it a glitch. But then I remembered something. There was a time I'd scour X and LinkedIn looking for Nigerians talking about data privacy law and barely find anyone. That search eventually led me to my tech law mentor, the infatigable Adeyemi O. Owoade, CIPM (@Owoadeyemi). The space was quiet then. I helped make it less quiet. I. did. that. (Cringe) So no, it's not a glitch. It's compound effect. Days of learning in public. Days of sharing my wins with cringe. Weekends of learning with community. Nights of studying in sickness and in health. This win is a worthy reminder to anyone who's struggling with the cringe. The cringe is like your shadow. When you choose to stand within a glimmer of light, it will show up and never leave you. But unlike your shadow, you can embrace it. While I took a step back from building in public to ease into a pupillage role in litigation, I remain engaged to learning and growth opportunities in the tech compliance space. I've been growing in the tech compliance space. But I've not been building in public. Ranking No. 1 in Privacy Law category was the strong reminder I needed to start showing up strong again.
