He is the world no. 3 badminton player, expressing air pollution as the reason for withdrawing from the Indian Open at Delhi. Fine. You can’t fix pollution overnight. But what’s the compulsion to host the Indian Open in Delhi in January, when pollution is at its peak? India has many non-northern cities that are comparatively cleaner and have far better air quality, where such tournaments could easily be organised. So why this obsession with Delhi? Another embarrassment, especially after yet another player raised concerns about hygiene and pollution yesterday. @BAI_Media, headed by @himantabiswa, needs to explain this. And if there’s no reasonable answer, we might as well label these players as Soros agents trying to internally sabotage sports superpower India.
