Spring has been its usual chaotic self - we are currently ~10 days ahead of 2025 in MD/NoVA. What is predictable is that when Adult #ABW get going, Larvae are not far behind. Early instar larvae are here - #Atexzo has excellent activity on both. greencastonline.com/golf-dashboard

Keep scouting and treat as appropriate. Damage can show shortly after droughty periods if we do finally break from the rainy periods!

First time in a few seasons where #ABW stayed this consistent in the summer months in the mid-Atlantic region - likely due to adequate (excessive in some cases) moisture. Not seeing glaring symptoms for the same reason. Full range of instars and a few Callow adults mixed in.

Spring break broke open #ABW larval activity…..warm temps have activity on the rise in MD and NoVA. Still mostly early 1st/2nd instars, but a 3rd or two showing up as well. Stay tuned, stay up to date: greencastonline.com/weeviltrak/cou…

Also, shorter days/cooler temps are bringing soil temps into range for most fall fungicide app ranges if you haven’t started already, we are quickly getting there.

Recent tropical storms have brought Fall Army Worms with them. Acelepryn at 4 oz/A or Acelepryn Xtra at 8 oz/A should provide ~60 days of control to get you through the remainder of the fall.

#ABW Larval Densities and size range picked up quickly last week at MD and NoVA sites. Scouting now and staying tuned for stage changes in your area is advisable: greencastonline.com/weeviltrak/cou

#ABW larval activity picking up quickly as the week goes on in NoVA/MD Started around 20/ft2 on Monday up to ~80/ft2 this afternoon. Most are still 1st and 2nd instars, but a few early 3rd mixed in as well. Another “accordion” type spring!

Earthquakes, eclipses and spring like weather have reawakened ABW adults recently….finding a lot more than past couple years. Looks like warmer weather is here to stay, will be a good time to check your course in coming days. greencastonline.com/weeviltrak/cou…

Looking ahead at fall preventative applications for SDS, Large & Take All Patch, still a ways to go in NoVA/MD - unseasonably warm week should keep these from falling into range anytime soon. Keep up w/ your area and sign up for alerts w/ link below: greencastonline.com/tools/soil-tem…

Fall Armyworm update from @lejodelpozo: I was contacted by a LCO on Friday, Aug 18 reporting some FAW activity here in Virginia Beach. We have seen very low numbers of adult captures across our bucket traps in Richmond, Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. #vaturf #fallarmyworm

ABW larval activity is definitely picking up in NoVA & starting to show in select MD sites. The cooler weather has things holding, but we are on the edge of Stage 3 throughout the MD/NoVA area. Soil Temps fell back off a little, but leveling off for the most part.

Jan/Feb created a bit of a stir, but March will be March & to date year over year we are now behind +/- 25 GDD across the region w/ no significant gains in the foreseeable future. @TurfgrassDS explains this well in his recent blog: Diligence & Patience greencastonline.com/weeviltrak/blo…
