@ab_nufc @englandcricket I’m afraid that instant Cricket is like instant coffee! I have no real memories of the shorter game but lasting memories of Test Cricket. And RCB have put the player first. They are clearly happy to let him go!? I am sorry for people who have no memory of life before pyjamas!

@englandcricket This should not be allowed. Sit in the RCB dugout & let the club doctors treat him. He has a contract with the franchise. England Tests aren't all that important. I'm glad Jofra is staying with the Royals.

Official Statement - Jacob Bethell The England and Wales Cricket Board has agreed with Royal Challengers Bangalore that top-order batter Jacob Bethell will return to the UK after sustaining a left ring finger injury while playing in the Indian Premier League. He will be fully assessed and monitored by the England Men’s medical team on his return to determine his availability for selection for the Rothesay first Test against New Zealand at Lord’s, starting on Thursday 4 June.

@BabajiSutar3 He carried a brief case with his predictions for his own contribution for each match he played! And his home is apparently decorated with his Cricketing memorabilia. Quite the contrast to a great England fast bowler who had nothing in his house to suggest sport!

@SagarH62 And I’ll add for you youngsters. Study the history of the game. Only Tendulkar matches Bradman, Hobbs and Hutton. No one in the modern game! And Bradman is alone in top spot. And Sobers the best all round Cricketer of the lot. What do you think Martin @fredfertang ?

@SagarH62 A very tough man indeed. Hard as nails and an uncompromising Cricketer who said what it was. Also turned down elite umpiring as he did not want to spend life on a plane. One of the best Umps too. Saw his last Test 40 odd in each dig at Lords. Huge respect PW.

One of my favourite players as a kid ... Mike Smith of Middlesex was originally a spinner who became a trusty opener. He played five ODIs and passed 1000 runs every summer from 1969 to 1977 (Patrick Eagar)

Only a few can identify this Cricketer these days… Can you ❓ Elegant batsman (74 Tests, 1970s) known for his flair and big scores against pace…. but often overshadowed by the Chappells and others in a golden era. Reliable and stylish without the massive hype.
