Here’s what is actually known as of verified reporting and fact-checked sources — not what social posts or memes claim: 1. There is a real dispute over a court record database called “Courtsdesk”. The UK Ministry of Justice (MoJ) ordered the deletion of the Courtsdesk archive of magistrates’ court records because that private archive was operating without a proper data protection licence. This did put removal of that dataset on the schedule for deletion. However: this is about data protection rules and licensing, not about a government cover-up. 2. The archive contained searchable records. The dataset was used by journalists and researchers to analyse patterns, for example a figure of 25,118 cases being referenced in some reporting — but that number comes from a third-party analysis of the dataset, not from an official government total. 3. The government says it will not delete its own official archives. The MoJ says its internal court records remain intact; the deletion order applies only to this third-party consolidation that was not compliant with the relevant data protection regime. 4. The deletion was paused and is being renegotiated. After critics raised concerns, the MoJ engaged with Courtsdesk about a new licence instead of immediate deletion. 5. There is no credible evidence that Keir Starmer or his government is “erasing evidence forever” of child sexual abuse cases to cover up wrongdoing. Major news organisations report this as about data publication formats and data protection compliance, not about destroying official evidence. There is no reporting from independent news outlets confirming a government cover-up of court evidence. 6. The claim that “25,118 child sexual abuse cases” are being erased is a third-party data analysis figure, not an official figure being purged by the government. That number was derived from the Courtsdesk dataset. In summary: There is a valid policy story about the Courtsdesk archive of magistrates’ court listings potentially being deleted because it lacked a licence under UK data-protection law. But this is not evidence that the UK government is systematically erasing all court records of grooming gang cases to hide them. There’s no credible, independent reporting that Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s government is ordering the destruction of evidence of child sexual abuse. Claims that it is a “cover-up” are circulating in social media but are not supported by reliable sources.

Keir Starmer tells the House that he won’t ban cousin marriage. The amazing thing is that he’s currently trying to ban X, meaning that the British government would rather you marry your cousin than use this app.

£3.5m profit a day globally. £1m a day from British taxpayers. A £1.8bn bill to fix a historic injustice. Fujitsu admits culpability in the Post Office Horizon scandal but won’t say how much it will pay. No figure. No provision. Just fine words about being “ethical”. Ethics aren’t slogans. They’re what you put in the accounts. Watch today's Business and Trade Committee session with Fujitsu, ministers, Post Office leaders - and #Horizon victims as we pursue our campaign for justice
