Update: As early as 8am this morning, I got a distress call from Jonathan’s wife crying that her husband while already on his way to Court from Kirikiri was returned to the prison, because the Court would not be sitting on criminal matters today and till next week again. Calmed her down and put a call to @Abbas_bnSanusi to find out what happened. He confirmed the situation and we immediately agreed that we would appear still and prevail on the Court to still proceed with the matter, despite him not being in court. We could not afford to have him spend another week in prison. The court after listening to the brilliant submissions of @Abbas_bnSanusi agreed to mention the case and criminal charges against Jonathan have now been struck out and his release currently being processed to reunite him with his family.
