@XavierR36092238@Ststansberry@doctor2pi Google translate is a good suggestion! I think it covers the basics and helps students understand what they are learning.
@Ststansberry A3) Google Translate is the main thing to come to mind. Since they can translate just about anything which would be good when it comes to homework or assigned readings! Basically making it easier to learn! #CSUBTED@doctor2pi
Wednesday fun! Here's the next question in the CSUB EDTE4200 Slow Chat. Make sure you include A3) before your response. Don't forget to tag #CSUBTED , #CSUBEDTE4200, and your EDTE 4200 professor.
@leonlizette21@Ststansberry@DrEddiesClass That’s such a good suggestion! My mom also uses duolingo and loves how it feels like she is playing a game while learning at the same time.
@Ststansberry A3) A technology tool that will help multilingual learners is Duo Lingo. It has a great curriculum to help children and adults too. My dad is learning English by using Duo Lingo and loves it. It is a fun and excited way to learn a new language. #CSUBTED#EDTE4200@DrEddiesClass
@tom_karnes@doctor2pi A4) There are many teachers from all over that have different social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. I would follow their accounts and find ideas I haven't used. I believe this can be very helpful. #CSUBTED#CSUBEDTE4200@doctor2pi
Last evening of the Slow Chat! Here's the next question. Make sure you include A4) before your response. Don't forget to tag #CSUBTED , #CSUBEDTE4200, and your EDTE 4200 professor.
@renjaz2@tom_karnes@DrEddiesClass TikTok is such a good source for ideas! The format is perfect to see how ideas are implemented in less than a minute.
@tom_karnes A4: When I want to look for new ways to incorporate technology in the classroom, I’d look on social media but I would also look forward colleagues and professors who have been implementing tools in their class and know the results. #csubted#CSUBEDTE4200@DrEddiesClass
@Ststansberry A3: I think sites like Google Translate, or more specific ones such as Spanish Dictionary can help multilingual students with their classes. However, I hope to discover other tools. #CSUBEDTE4200#csubted@DrEddiesClass
@JennPaulsen2@doctor2pi@DrEddiesClass Kahoot is an excellent recommendation! I think it has the ability to make the class so much more exciting and engaging. The competition can encourage students to want to learn the material.
@doctor2pi I think Kahoot has a lot of great possibilities. It is perfect? No, but it allows questions to be projected in many different ways such as adding images as descriptors. This could be used to help strengthen academic language across all abilities. #CSUBEDCI6610@DrEddiesClass
@doctor2pi A2: A technology resource that h would recommend is definitely Google drive. There’s no cost to create a free account and there is so much to use- Google slides, Gmail, Google classroom, etc. #EDTE4200#CSUBTED@DrEddiesClass
@doctor2pi Educators can use technology to communicate with students and parents using apps such as Remind or Class Dojo. They can also encourage students to be more creative by using Canva, or Google Slides. #EDTE4200#CSUBTED@DrEddiesClass
@PalaciosOl15118@doctor2pi I think the use of YouTube videos is such a great idea, it’ll allow students to hear the topics from other interesting folks.
@doctor2pi A1: Parents and teachers can use parent square to communicate any issues with the student, and/or the use of YouTube to show videos of example of certain topics. #CSUBTED#CSUBEDTE4200@doctor2pi
@doctor2pi I know most teachers and parents use Class Dojo to communicate and connect to support their child's academic goals. Class Dojo is an effective communication tool that is being actively used in 95% of K-8th schools. #EDTE4200#CSUBTED@tom_karnes
