This ruling is a huge miss from the high court. Graffiti is art and there’s no reasonable explanation for its ban on matatus. This very art is part of Kenyan Culture.

Recusal of a judge of the Supreme Court sitting to hear a presidential petition is not tenable. The rule and the previous custom and practice has been that the bench of SEVEN must sit as a whole. So Judge Katwat Kigen’s recommendation that he can recuse himself during a presidential petition is not founded in law. Recusing himself during the presidential petition would seriously affect the quorum of the court, thus rendering it inoperative. This means that the Supreme Court would never have the jurisdiction to hear the petition. Now think about his proposal politically. x.com/ntvkenya/statu…

What is that phrase Itumbi uses about facts😂

1. The approved Capitation for primary school is capped at Ksh 1,400 per year. The funds are usually released by the National Treasury to the Ministry of Education on termly basis in the ratio of 50:30:20. 2. The capitation amount is arrived at based on clear expenditure lines (vote heads) that are determined by estimated costs incurred by EACH learner. 3. Upon receipt of the money, and based on the exact amount received, MoE releases the funds with an accompanying circular detailing the expenditure breakdown (vote heads). 4. The figures in reference to the circular are based on this practice. 5. In summary, MoE wishes to clarify the following: • MoE determines how much money is allocated to each vote head based on the total amount of capitation received from the National Treasury • Capitation funds are released on three phases corresponding to the school calendar terms • The circular in reference is based on the 2nd term tranche as received from National Treasury. • The amounts shown are per learner, not per school -The KSh 95.25 PER LEARNER is for learning materials only (books, stationery, etc.) -The KSh 93.08 PER LEARNER for school operations (staff, maintenance, utilities, exams) @EduMinKenya @_BasicEdu
