Something to keep in mind - last time around, LaFleur cast a wide net and there were a lot of reports about who he was interviewing but the first time many heard Jeff Hafley's name connected to the gig was the initial report that he was being hired. GB likes to move in silence.

He was on Matt LaFleur’s staff for his first two years in Green Bay and interviewed for the Packers’ defensive coordinator job in 2024 before they hired Jeff Hafley. He’s definitely a favorite for the gig.

@samsonbeard @AnkleBiter61836 @MarkOldacres Yup you can definitely hand pick games out of the 100 or so he has coached where the offense wasn’t great…you can do that with any team, any side of the ball, no one is perfect. Mcvay is universally considered a great offensive mind. They looked very ordinary last night

Why McDermott gets fired and LaFleur doesn’t despite both falling short in the playoffs:
McDermott’s defenses stopped being above average, MLF’s offenses have stayed elite.
McDermott had 6 years of MVP level Josh Allen, MLF had a QB change in the middle of his tenure.
