3️⃣ There is no relationship between size and stratification of 🤰💸 across small labour markets, national policies matter! 4️⃣ 🇩🇪 benefits which are prop. to pre-birth income, probably increase incentives for high-earning mothers to stay home, thereby decreasing stratification

New Pub 🚨📝🎓: "Stratification of Post-Birth Labour Supply in a High- and Low- Maternal Employment Regime" sciencedirect.com/science/articl… TLDR: Germany has much bigger motherhood penalties than France, but they are less socially stratified. That wasn’t what we expected.🧵⬇️

So, we were like: ooh 🤔 small motherhood penalties (🇫🇷) come with a lot of stratification medium ones (East-🇩🇪) with some and big ones (West-🇩🇪) with little. 💡 Maybe the relationship is the other way around than we thought?

@arpitrage Otoh the trend of rising task and information complexity via coautgor joinup and automation combined might just accelerate even faster.

Prediction: the trend of rising co-authors on papers in economics will revert, as AI can automate many tasks in idea generation, data cleaning, writing, robustness checks, etc. More solo authored papers.
