Temporary traffic lights are in place on Park Lane West #Tipton. Lights will be manually controlled between 7am-7pm but do allow extra time if driving via this area. The lights are needed to enable @SthStaffsWater to repair a leak. one.network/?GB149051152. @sandwellcouncil

@sandwellroads please can u look at the traffic light for the crossing between Waddington ave and jayshaw ave, on the newton road, keeps changing to red with no button pushed. Also the timings of the lights at the junction with monksfield ave, on red too long at the roadworks

The police can FINE you up to £10,000 and 3 points on your license for having bald or minimum tread on your tyres if they find you driving an unroadworthy vehicle. Should the police be able to FINE local councils for unroadworthy roads with potholes?

@sandwellcouncil @sandwellroads ped xing lights malfunction reported to out of hours highways/talent last night. Still causing problems this am and rush hour L will be more chaotic than normal! The High Bullen dual carriageway. Both sides. Continually changing! Stopping vehicles!

❄️ Although the snow is now thawing in places, ice and snow is still about - especially on the hills. 🥶 Temperatures will be as low as -5 in places tonight, which means there will be ice. We may see more wintry showers later. @sandwellroads

That's a total of around 4,000 miles covered since the New Year, plus a run on Christmas Day lunchtime when many of us were sitting down to dinner 🎄 🟠Please remember an amber weather warning is in place.

🧂We have around 5,000 tonnes of salt available and we’ve used 800+ tonnes during the current cold weather to keep our roads safe. 🚛So far in 2026, the crew have completed more than 15 runs, each time treating around 270 miles of our priority roads.

❄️Our gritting crew are out on our roads again now – their third run of today (so far). 👉They expect to be working 24/7 until Saturday morning making our roads as safe as they can in the snow and ice.

❄️#StormGoretti is coming! Heavy snow is forecasted across Sandwell and the West Midlands, with an amber weather warning in effect from 8pm 👉We’ve started precautionary gritting and our crews are putting a double load of salt down across Sandwell’s road network @sandwellroads
