@PistL_Pete 1. Our clock doesnt allows game to last more than 3-4 hours. You always know the game will last 90+10 minutes. 2. It doesnt allows for broadcasters to add commercials between stops So it's better. If it's not broken don't fix it

The World Cup is awesome and soccer is a great sport but I have two gripes… the clock should stop on stoppages like every other sport. Extra time is unnecessary and offsides should only exist on set pieces. Attacking teams shouldn’t be penalized for getting behind the defense

In basketball, 5 seconds can take 5 minutes, and a 40-minute game can last 3 hours. Yet you're talking about not knowing when a game ends?

Still the craziest thing about soccer is that the announcers (and in turn viewers) aren't sure how much stoppage time is left in a game. Imagine watching a down-to-the-wire NFL game in which you weren't exactly sure how much time was left and waited for refs to wave their arms.

@RealSkipBayless I don’t really watch much soccer so I don’t really get why they don’t just stop the clock and restart it every time something happens instead of making up some rounded up number for stoppage time at the end

Did you not see the absolute shit show tonight. Our high school varsity team would have outplayed the US tonight. This was their worst performance I've ever seen. Bosnia could run circles around tonight's team. I will not be rooting for them going forward, I can forgive a loss, but not utter stupidity, and tonight was the stupidest playing i've seen from them.

If the USA made the final four of the World Cup, would the viewership in the US be higher than the Super Bowl? I think 100% if it was the finals but not sure if that’s true for the semifinals.

@HarrisFanaroff If the US reaches the World Cup final, the whole country will hype it up. Trump and celebrities will join in, and they'll probably show it in Times Square. Even then, I don't see it hitting 100M live viewers. Around 70M is more realistic

Honestly...the clock in soccer/futbol is one of the dumbest things in all of sports. Just count DOWN from 45 and stop the clock when needed. No need for "mystery time."
