@redl3tters I'm a guy but the only people I saw with "not political" were from China. Idk what it means for guys, but for girls I assume it means "don't bother me with that gay shit"

Those who are still torturing themselves via the dating app circus have developed the habit of "vice signaling" which is highlighting a trait or two that intentionally repels the holdouts from the bygone woke era so you don't waste time interacting with them only to find out they're going morally grandstand over your pro-life stance or edgy sense of humor. "Not political" means, "I don't want to make boilerplate political discussion the center of my romantic interactions so let's not". "No fatties" means "I like to crack jokes and shoot from the hip, so don't nag me about it". "Weird sexist admissions" serve the purpose of nixing the finger wagging ninnies before they ever make it to your match queue. It's a way of eliminating socially maladjusted women before you ever have to spend energy on them, and, as you can see... It works.
Not a Good Jewish Girl✡️@estherzelda0514

I didn't believe my friends that 90% of men on dating apps from age 25 to 45 are trash, so I went through her queue with her over coffee yesterday morning. Nearly every single profile had at least one red flag that was impossible to overlook: blatantly lying about age or height, "not political," unemployed, "figuring out my dating goals," alcoholic, "no fatties," weird sexist admissions, etc. Mind you, this wasn't even getting to their looks or picture quality, and these red flags are what these men are comfortable revealing on their public profiles, so they must be so much worse in person.

@ctjlewis The example you're responding to is such a bad analogy he's either lying, a moron, or looking for engagement. Which is most of the Internet these days anyway

Sorry guys. I don’t sell copium here. This example is a physical task which is harder to automate with text-based models. Software is purely text and text-based tools. In your heart, you understand.

@IcebergActual @redl3tters So either: 1. Filter them out intentionally with "Conservative" or "5'9" 2. Play the game and say you're 5'11 and liberal Women can be annoying but if I want to hook up with someone, it's not that hard to buy them a drink and say "Of course I didn't vote for Trump"

@sapuo_x @redl3tters Dating apps are the only place this shit matters because you get automatically filtered out due to the “HR-ification” of dating

Graham Platner is a man so mentally damaged he’s receiving $5,000 a month — tax free! — from the government in disability pay, yet he wants to be a Senator. Either is incapable of being a Senator, or he has been arranging his finances to claim benefits which he does not deserve.

@NicholasBardy @MartinShkreli Gotcha, the idea is that more efficient AI makes things cheaper for household users but demand holds at the upper limit because it creates its own demand in industries like biotech/chem engineering, etc. Fair enough, thanks

I think there is a case “in the limit” if everyone has all the compute they need. But I think that’s literally never going to happen. There is always a problem to solve with more intelligence. If training is cheaper you just train bigger better smarter models. And the inference scaling laws go out as far as we can tell. So if it’s like “make the power grid more efficient” or “make my fissions reactor stable” or “discover new chemicals and materials” If it gets cheaper it just means you get more per dollar. Literally the history of Deep learning and transformers for the last 7 years has been how to train more efficiently. And we just take the efficiency AND we spend more on compute because it’s *multiplicative* Scale*efficiency compounds

@NicholasBardy @MartinShkreli Not trying to be argumentative, but is there a case that more efficient software makes having stronger/better hardware less important? I.e., we don't need cutting edge Nvidia GPUs if I can run full agentic workloads on my Lenovo Yoga CPU

@MartinShkreli Faster software makes the hardware worth more imo. Like I would be rolling out 10 agents of test time compute for every trading algorithm I write if it was more affordable. There is endless ways to deploy more intelligence

i stopped watching after the literal aryan nazi superhero lady was cast with the most stereotypically jewish looking woman possible, like they literally got someone who would look at home in Fiddler on the Roof and were like “you can play the nazi superhero”. like you seem in this teeet, i felt sure that was on purpose for some plot point but then no

@just_mindy It's not cognitive dissonance, it's using words as a weapon to get what they want. Someone isn't hypocritical for saying "I don't want to pay taxes but I want other people to pay taxes", it's just naked self interest

Watching this video of this gorgeous home in Mexico an American owns and uses for her family plus they rent it out. The comments are full of Mexican citizens saying things like “stay in your own country”, “Respect our country and leave the coastal properties to citizens” etc. Um, there is some major cognitive dissonance happening

@uubzu I can't imagine not offering 50-50, but whether I'd accept or turn down an offer is based more on who's offering it than the offer lol

It’s much more interesting if it’s $10M than $10, in a manner closely analogous to the difference between choosing death in a Twitter poll and choosing it with a gun to your head I believe you if you say you would reject a $2/$8 split. I am skeptical you would reject $2M/$8M
Ideas Guy@nosilverv

Ultimatum Game: experimenter gives you 10$. But you only keep it if your confederate accepts how you suggest to split it. “Rationally” they should accept anything non-zero: it’s free money. But irl people often reject anything below 70:30 and the most frequent offer is 50:50(!)

@JohnDoejkmd @heidicruzxxx @jpodhoretz I'm not advocating for anything and NYC politics are firmly out of my control. I would love for vagrants to be locked up-- it's the current mayor who wants to empty the prisons and stopped doing homeless sweeps, leading to 20 deaths during that snowstorm a few months ago
