It was extraordinary to have time become a moving target with behaviour that was external to visual experience — I had to hold time differently (both within and outside of myself) — recalibrating every word and action through this invisible filter

In 2015 I spent 37 days (36 Martian sols) living on time as experienced on Mars –– it felt exactly like this (right down to the two wristwatches) ⏰⏰

@NPR I found this interesting but can someone explain why having the rover work from 9-5 is more important than having the scientists on a regular schedule?
