Paying bills today. Would rather be reading.

People moved aside to make room for me in line. As I turned to leave, arms full of pizza boxes, the man from behind the counter jogged ahead to open the door. Winter air kissed my cheeks, and I smiled, “What a beautiful little life.”

Last night, I drove downtown to pick up pizzas. The sky was tinged with gold and pink—the colors of welcome, I think. From the street, I could smell the oven-baked crust floating in the air, all yeasty and wonderful. Inside was even better.

When we are at home in our bodies, we invite others to be at home in their bodies, too. When we are grounded, we invite others to experience groundedness, too. Maybe this is, at least a little, the way we learn to embody loving our neighbors as ourselves.
