This might be one of the most important stories I've covered recently. Thousands of children in the UK living with life-changing impacts after Covid have been left without access to appropriate healthcare. But their families say no one wants to know.

1/ After almost five years reporting on the failings of medical cannabis policy in the UK, it felt like a significant milestone to get a commission from @Telegraph this week, especially for such an important story.

UK medical cannabis in numbers: - 6 years legal - 5 NHS prescriptions - 300,000+ private prescriptions (21-23) - 50 children prescribed privately - Costing £2k+ per month - 35,000 children with uncontrolled seizures - 0 of these children have benefited from the law change

@TweeterReynolds Sorry that's not very clear now I'm re-reading it!

@TweeterReynolds To clarify this is supposed to mean that '0 of those children with uncontrolled seizures have benefited' - obviously I know that many people have benefited from being able to access a prescription and I'm not overlooking that!

@ragabonz I believe it's 300,000 items prescribed, not patients - so 24 items?

@sarahlsinclair_ Would I count as 1 prescription over that two year period or is it 24? Like I had one each month so is it actually prescriptions written or is that 300,000+ people
