my heart is heavy thinking about Mickey’s family. it’s so tough losing a family member but especially so on Christmas. i speak from experience when i say the grief rings loud and the holiday is forever changed. sending love and praying for her family and loved ones.

So I was looking over my #Survivor49 preseason videos, and I made a shocking revelation Kristina actually had her jury question already prepared 2 days before the game even started!

@mwmtall @ShannonGaitz yeah I really wish we got more context behind everything but I get that it’s a tv show and it’s so condensed. I was thinking social game as jury management. bcz people remember how you make them feel, and right or wrong, some weigh that a lot when casting their vote

@sarahmenzel @ShannonGaitz Yeah and I think that’s totally fine if that was her reasoning! I just don’t think the question actually speaks to Sav’s social game. She invested in the relationships that got her to the end, and from what we saw, this question didn’t give her a chance to speak to that.

The gamebotification of #Survivor discourse has gone so far. The social game is often the fabric of the game, but in the wonderfully multifaceted format this is always to varying extents. Savannah couldn't name 5 family members & got 2 of those votes. It was a fair question that exposed a true internal game flaw, but 1 that Savannah had clearly sufficiently overcome in other ways. I love split votes, reads & blindsides more than the next person, but the fact that the fan base will argue against the relevance of connection is alarming #Survivor49
