@StigAbell I'm in a re-read of the Samson books right now. About to start "Hope" (Book 8.) I read them in the 80s and 90s, but am enjoying them more this time around. RIP.

When I was young, I read every book in my parents’ house. That included the Bernie Samson series by Len Deighton that starts with Game. I re-read them all last year: they are gritty, charming spy tales with little flecks of poetry. Such an important writer to me. RIP.

I wrote he wouldn't commit to racing next season at this time. I don't think that's being dramatic based on this exchange. I asked directly and he wouldn't say for sure whether he would be back. I asked: "There's a concern on social media after your comments that you might pull a Carl. Will you come back and race next year?" He answered: "I mean, I plan to. I have a contract to, but at this point, there's just absolutely no way that I would even -- I don't even think about race cars right now. I'm gonna need some time on this one."
