@FreeAlbertaRob You were smart enough to know that there would be blowback if you accepted the minority report over the majority. So you simply replicate the process with new people in order to get the result that you want. And as Judge Miller warned, this will get challenged in court under S3.

Each time Alberta has established an Electoral Boundaries Commission to redraw election maps the government has accepted the commission’s majority report, so I was surprised and disappointed to learn that a committee of MLAs has instead been tasked with creating a new map. /1

There is a reason that we do not have MLAs decide on electoral boundaries. Tossing out the Electoral Boundaries Commission and replacing it with a UCP-dominated committee is not just a bad idea. It is really bad for democracy. Ask the US, ask Hungary. This is not normal!

Incredible. A Justice Minister who amends the law to ensure preferential treatment for his friends— Let me be more blunt. A Justice who amends the law to protect his friends from prosecution deserves to be prosecuted himself. We need a resignation and a public inquiry.
