A huge part of our work this month will be focusing on getting these events out on time!!! • The special Easter profile theme this time is different from everything in the past. Hoping to release an update soon! • The canvas issue is now fixed and we are monitoring our solution. @soundmap_app are yall going to fix where when you search for unowned songs everything you have (entire discography) comes up as unowned and you can have multiple copies? things like shiny and stuff come up but all regular songs act as if you dont have them but it let's you get multiples

📣| Week 13, 2026 Another week, another update. This week is all about optimizations and live events (same goal for the rest of the year!) • We continued our database cleanup effort over the weekend. We’re in the home stretch now and should be finished by tomorrow. We’ll be live while making the final changes to ensure everything goes smoothly. This should address the most database-intensive query in the app and give us more breathing room for rate boost / double XP events. • v2.10.1 is out now with 2 minor bug fixes! • April Fools is coming 🙈 We’re also aware that the 2025 edition isn’t showing up normally — aiming to address this in v2.10.2. • We’re actively investigating the canvas syncing issue. Canvas epics are critical in the Soundmap universe and we’ll work to resolve this ASAP. • We’re also looking into the long load times after the app has been in the background for a while. We know this is impacting more users now and will address it soon. It may be related to the CD animation getting stuck — we’ll confirm as we continue investigating. • Easter event may be slightly delayed as we rework some of the initial designs. 📣| Hey guys, hope you had a good weekend. The past few days have been rather embarrassing for us and first of all, apologies for all the bugs. It really hurt us that we underperformed and app performance regressed. We want to give you an update on what happened. With full transparency, here were the 2 issues happening concurrently: 1. Frontend Issues: Throughout last week, we’ve been trying to fix the “getting stuck on drop opening animation” issue and quickselling not responsive issue. It brought us down a rabbit hole and we ended up rewriting a large portion of the drop opening code. In the meantime, we were pushing to ship St. Patricks day event in the new update and wanted to get as many people on the update as possible. Both were facing some delays and we were only able to get the update approved by 11pm on Friday. To launch St. Patricks day event today, we had to release it as soon as possible. In a normal sequence, we would have one more round of testing before releasing and we let that slip through the crack. The version had issues on both iOS and Android and the team had to scramble with follow up fixes throughout the weekend. 2. Backend issues: we made more database changes last friday hoping to stabilize it more, but the new machine turned out to be worse when handling large notifications. On Saturday, we sent gem compensations to all android users and it jammed up the database. At 8pm, with the league refresh notice, it jammed up again. At first, we thought it was one off with some stalled queries. However, on Sunday, it happened twice again with the double XP event notif and bracket notif. We’ve since updated the machine type and should be over-provisioned now. This one is 100% on us. As we get going with the new team, we must get better at these processes. Going forward, we will adhere to the following: • No more scope creep and ship smaller updates • Get event updates out earlier before their start date • No more friday deployment or new updates • Firm stance on testing procedures on both platform While the St. Patrick's Day event is live, we’ll continue to monitor database performance and the app. We are standing by and will address any issues that come up. We will also re-run the double XP again later this week to make up for the lost time. We’ve identified a few queries that are jamming up the database, in particular notification, and we are working on it now.
 As we move forward, we are working on more database optimization, april fools event, soundpass s4, and one other event for mid-late April. We appreciate your patience and thank you again for staying with us on this journey! Back to work, Team Soundmap

The St. Patricks Day event will be live from 2pm EST on Mar 16th to 2pm EST on Mar 26th. Each day, a numbered edition will drop for each song. For example: • On day 1 (the first 24 hours), all #1 lucky editions for all 20 songs will drop • On day 2 (from the 24th hour to 48th hour), all #2 lucky editions for all 20 songs will drop • Etc. etc. Lucky edition epics will have a special frame around them that’s exclusive to 2026 St. Patricks day event!
