So that July 16 flood. Was it my fault? I did say something at the Shadowland opening @evergreen_brick_works about wanting to see what the environment would do to these rice paper scrolls. Thanks to @prince.of.nature for documenting this Mud Creek/Don River "collaboration."

So grateful that @milesrufelds came to document the Shadowland at @EvergreenCanada BEFORE Toronto's July 16 flood. The show was all about the power of Toronto's ravines and the ravines obliged: waters rose waist height in the gallery space! Images of the aftermath coming soon.

@timeinch @DiscoverMag I’ve been dreaming about visiting Tristan ever since writing this story. What a great assignment!

@JohnLorinc When I was living in Cambridge people would sometimes “reserve” a space with plastic lawn chairs, after digging it out

#topoli The gordian knot of street parking after a blizzard: dig out the car, but dare not drive it for fear of losing the space. Sidebar question: does an empty dug out space belong to the digger or is it fair game?

@timeinch I don’t remember hearing about wind turbines specifically, but there are lots of ideas out there for repurposing. They just need funds!

beautiful nuanced and multifaceted story about coral reefs blooming on abandoned offshore oil rigs and the wrought pull between leaving them be or demanding cleanup to keep operators on the hook: hakaimagazine.com/features/oil-r…

Hello! I'm in a fabulous, small Slack group for science journalists. I'd love to join a similar group for people writing book-length essays/memoir. Prefer small group w/ professional/established writers. Does such a thing exist or do I need to start it? If the latter, who's in?

@Sarah_Gilman @hakaimagazine Let’s do that again some time. You know an editor is skillful when you don’t miss the cuts and the story is much better for them. Writers, take note!

My parents are bee keepers. They sent me this photo from a fellow French bee keeper who didn’t put the frames in his hive. This is the magic the bees created by themselves 🐝 #bees #nature
