- "Extreme" fear = most consistent heights Psychology tells us fear can make things appear larger (shoutout to that amygdala-visual cortex feedback loop). The data is potentially showcasing this phenomenon! #Cryptozoology #DataScience #Research #Bigfoot 🧵2/2

🔍 Fascinating pattern in sasquatch sighting data: Higher fear levels = taller reported heights! Key findings: - All groups show height peak at 7-8 ft - 77% of reports ≥9 ft come from "Elevated" & "Extreme" fear groups - "Mild" fear = most variable height reports 🧵1/2

I just updated the Sasquatch Data Project dataset to include all the Clackamas County reports from the BFRO & I added three new columns “Facial Expression”, “Toes Present?” (In regard to a footprint), and “# Toes Present” 🏔️ github.com/sasquatchdata

Again, there isn’t enough data (yet) to say anything conclusive. The current groups *suggest* (and I say this EXTREMELY cautiously) that maybe these are the cutoff points between juvenile, female, and male sasquatch. This is a stretch, not enough data! But a guess at least 🤷‍♀️ 5/5

It’s quite possible and makes sense as to why we would not have as many smaller (8-12inch) footprints in the dataset. Those are well within human range. To someone who is not trained to spot sasquatch foot morphology, it would just “look like” a human footprint. 4/5

🌿Prelim Sasquatch Footprint Analysis🌿 Note the quartiles at 11.25, 15.25, and 18.0 inches. Already we are seeing defined groups in the data, but I’ve got a long way to go! 171 reports deep and only 20 (!) contained footprint data. This is not enough to decipher anything yet.1/5

An early birthday present 🥹 I’ve already gotten into the Kathy Strain and Michael Freeman books. Super good already!! 🌿 I’ll be back in Georgia this week visiting family so it only feels right to take The Appalachian Bigfoot with me to read while I’m relaxing in the mountains 🏔️ I hope y’all are having a fantastic week so far! Go learn something new today ✨

Now is the time to lace up your hiking boots and get out into the woods to research sasquatch! 🍂Fall🍂 was the most reported season (Sep-Nov) for Class A visual sightings in Alabama. Who else is going to be hitting the trails this weekend? 🙋‍♀️

The next state I’m gathering bigfoot reports from is Oregon! I’ve added 3 new columns to the dataset as well to make it 🌿even easier🌿 for sasquatch researchers to run their own data analysis. The updated CSV and XLSX files are on my GitHub! 🏔️ link in bio 🏔️

There were only 4 reports that even ballparked a shoulder width measurement. Many reports generally said the bigfoot was “wide” or “broad” but did not give a measurement. Therefore 3.5 feet should be taken with a grain of salt. 4 data points is not enough to deduce anything.

6 reports mention the bigfoot as “not having a neck”. Sasquatch do have necks but because of the position of their shoulder muscles, the neck is shrouded. It’s interesting this wasn’t noted more frequently. Only 9.2% of the Class A sightings.

🌿More Alabama sasquatch data🌿 8 reports mention a stooped posture. I wonder if this might tie into the reports that claim the hands go to or past the knees. Are their arms actually significantly longer, or is some of that length attributed to their posture? #bigfoot #sasquatch
