But it’s a non issue, players are incentivised to buy a precon and a copy of sizzle of the single market
The 3k% increase may look dramatic the way you write your tweet, but it is really not an issue here

@sassguy19 The price is a reflection of playability, exclusivity, and precon price.
I think the precon is appropriately priced.
Sizzle is only moderately more playable/better than Weave Lightning.
So the 3k% increase seems to be in large part due to exclusivity.

Gut reaction says this is bad for the game but I'm not totally sure as to why.
Is it the fact that a playset of a common costs $18 on the secondary market?
Does it drive competitive players to buy products meant for 1st timers, restricting supply?
Or is this a non-issue? #fabtcg

These could be rare or even legendary, it doesn’t matter: there 2 copies of that card per deck
Their prices is only reflection of the precon’s price
If the deck was twice cheaper, this card would have been 3 bucks

My main hangup over the rarity issue stems from value as a game piece. We expect more powerful cards to carry a higher price tag, it makes sense but that isn't what's happening here.
Weave Lightning MP = .20
Sizzle MP = 7.21
That's a 3505% increase for a near* functional reprint.

Offer still stand for any budget btw, with very few exceptions, any heroes can be built for less than $200, often much less
That would perform great at armories
FaB is great for budget decks because the backbone of the deck relies on the common and rares

@sassguy19 @HowlingMines Thanks for the offer, but even then $400 is a steep ask for someone who just plays this game from time to time. I'm not even thinking of investing into CnCs because I know I will never play Nats/BHs so why bother.

You WILL be starting your journey with a tried-and-true hero for a minimal investment with clear ways to upgrade it regardless of budget. That was the goal 1/2

Ward X wording says that the (permanent) has to be destroyed as a part of effect resolution
And Ward X says “prevent X of THAT damage”, so it cannot prevent damage from another source of dmg on triggered on a singular source

The good answer is D. Well Grounded produces an Ongoing Prevention Effect (6.4.10i) If an effect states that damage cannot be prevented, the prevention still applies, but it total amount it can prevent is not reduced (6.4.10g) Therefore WG applies in full to the next damage event

@RogerB_MnR I don’t think there should ever be any type of game state ever where I deal 110 damage (not threaten) and still lose I don’t think that belongs in flesh and blood so yes, I’ll stand by it lol

@RogerB_MnR Yeah, in my favorite archetype in that game was dimir rogue where I played a long strategy to mill your deck. I promise you this has nothing to do with aggro versus control. It’s certain mechanics and game states that I just don’t prefer in the game.

Removing any form of value in these would kill the game
Because the ecosystem around FaB would die (single shops, LGSs hosting armories and selling product, organised play, ..)

I'd love to hear some FAB player opinions on this take. I 1000% agree. I think FAB would be a better game if they had an aggressive reprint policy.
LGSs don't die because a card gets reprinted.
You don't "lose value" if you bought the card to play with.
Cards are toys.

this mentality is baked into the BONES of mtg. players talk about game pieces they have no intention of ever moving in terms of its value as a financial asset i cannot describe how freeing it is to unshackle yourself from feelings of “investment” and play with toys

2) if as an aggro deck you can’t close the game earlier than 8-9 turns, and allow you opp to setup their late game otk, you didn’t lose because of CyB

Unmovable negate the attack and all the potential triggered effects of the attack if hit there is
So even if you over block, if that attack has on hit (eg: the weakest link, bloodrot token, on hit discard, ..)
Unmovable is better than CyB

@sassguy19 @RiddlermanOnYT This isn't quite the same though. Gaining 9 life and blocking 9 damage are not equal. 9 life gained negates the value of about 2 cards. 9 damaged blocked only gets you full value if the attack was coming in for 9 or more

I think it is really nice that the FAB community comes together to lend decks/cards to new players so they can play, but at some point we gotta talk about the barrier of entry we create for Armories.
