Given the news today that Spirit Airlines is shuttering and thousands of people are losing their jobs, I think we should honestly assess whether the Garland DoJ stopping the JetBlue merger with Spirit Airlines was the right call. Perhaps it was but any analysis must consider as part of the equation the loss to so many families ro decide.

Blanche on Trump’s message to Bondi to prosecute his enemies: Welker: Why should the public believe that any case brought against the individuals listed there is not retribution? Blanche: Because you have investigations and indictments. That wasn’t a private message. Welker: But it was meant to be private. Blanche: How do you know? Welker: Based on my conversations with top administration officials. Blanche: President Trump wants full investigations where appropriate. That’s a good thing. Everybody in this country should want that.

Ok panicans, Gas prices will be down below $2.50 a gallon before the midterms excluding blue states with their high gasoline taxes. As a matter of fact, gas prices won't even be a issue by the time November 3rd rolls around.

@JamesCostopoul1 @TheAtlantic Racially gerrymandering a district under the guise of “partisan advantage” doesn’t do away with racism. It’s just another name for the same racial discrimination the US has been dealing with for decades.

@TheAtlantic Yes, it was changed forever by ending the toxic practice of racial gerrymandering. Now all voters are treated equally when it comes to gerrymandering.

The Voting Rights Act “has not been dealt a ‘blow’” by the Supreme Court, Vann R. Newkirk II argues. “The law is dead, and no matter what happens in the coming elections, politics in America has been forever changed.” theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/05/…

Trump on the midterms: "It is a problem I'm not on the ballot. Everyone says if I was on a ballot we'd win in a landslide. I have some of the best poll numbers I've ever had."

the Supreme Court is certainly obdurate. six conservative justices dining at the White House!--proclaiming their allegiance to one political party. not even a pretense any longer of impartiality in the court; little chance of change; not hopeless exactly, for nothing is hopeless, but indeed very disheartening.
Christopher Gelarden@saturninus9

@JoyceCarolOates Sadly, you’re right. There’s a lot more work to do before we’re out of this mess.

yet he retains the power to wage wars no one wants except (perhaps) Israel; he has the power to start a nuclear war; he has the power to privatize many thousands of acres of national forests & parks; he has the power to unleash ICE against anyone he wishes; he has the backing of Congress & the Supreme Court.

@saturninus9 @HQNewsNow I hope you know I'm joking. I think his approval rating should be a single digit and I'm only allowing that for obviously mentally ill voters.

@l_bohlman @RpsAgainstTrump Yes, he defends our Constitution and our institutions…by attacking them repeatedly every fucking day. And no one responds to reality more like a spoiled child than Donald Today he said he’s got the greatest poll numbers ever. And people (or bots) like you believe it.

Verifiable facts, civics, policies that govern funded by taxpayers, congressional actions, cause, and impact aren't whataboutism. There are thousands of pages printed in black and white. Freely available to everyone who can read the alphabet. Your emojis and retarded meme don't change them. Blah, blah, blah. All you have is deflection and emotionally based drivel. Reality isn't changed because you act like a spoiled toddler who can't accept reality. What are you like 12?

Trump: Hakeem Jeffries just called the Supreme Court of the United States and illegitimate court! This is a low IQ individual, who should not be allowed to talk that way about one of the greatest institutions anywhere in the world. Trump on SCOTUS after it ruled against him on tariffs: "They’re very unpatriotic and disloyal to our Constitution.”
