Having this new set of political lawyers is valuable for any democracy, but when they operate without good faith, it becomes a disaster for the nation and its institutions. The alarming rate at which our laws are being weaponized for selfish gain and to shield narrow political interests threatens the very foundation of our Constitution. We are witnessing, and enabling a dangerous new wave of legal actions rooted in bad faith, which undermines public trust, stalls genuine reforms, and endangers Sierra Leone’s democratic progress. If we cannot demand integrity from all legal actors, regardless of affiliation. True patriotism means nothing without upholding the rule of law in good faith, not bending it to serve partisan ends.
