Why is it that leftist and green parties capture the minds of the youth overwhelmingly more than the slopulist right parties Keith? Maybe it’s because being anti-immigration isn’t enough to capture their imaginations and they crave more in the face of climate change, Russian aggression, Israeli atrocities, and pensioners bleeding the youth dry.
Young people want less immigration but they also want European integration, green policies, and state intervention into the economy whilst releasing the chokehold boomers have over the productive population that can’t afford homes and can’t get good wages if they can even find a job.

The rightwing bubble is one of the most statistically illiterate districts in the discourse when it comes to immigration.
Here are a few of the things they don't seem to know:
(1) Indian H-1Bs are only a tiny percentage of the total legal immigrant population in the US (about 1 to 2%).
(2) Just because a group might suck in Europe (e.g., Pakistanis, Lebanese, Turks), doesn't mean they suck here in the US. (All of those groups I named outperform whites on income and education here in the US).
(3) Legal immigrants (including from many nations in the developing world) drive innovation and tech company creation here in the US at a higher rate than do native-born Americans.
(4) While Indian immigrants display more in-group hiring bias than native-born whites, the amount of this bias is only average among immigrant groups.
