@WriterHannahBT @BBCNews Don't hold your breath. When marching to save our NHS from dismantling in 2015 we had at least 500k people marching through London holding up the capital. The BBC had nothing on main news; when it did a bit later, 'approx' numbers were reduced to tens of thousands.

Dear @BBCNews we would like to know why you didn’t cover a major news event in #London yesterday. Between 60-100 THOUSAND people marched at the #RestoreNatureNow. It looks like you are picking what you think is newsworthy. Isn’t that called bias? Regards, British wildlife.

But Streeting doesn't just want a big stick. He also plans better training, support and professional standards for NHS managers and is planning to set up a new Royal College of Clinical Leadership. He wants more doctors running parts of the NHS 3/7

I've been wanting to sit down with @wesstreeting to discuss #patientsafety, culture and whistleblowing in the NHS for a while. In The Sunday Times he outlines his plans, fears & personal approach on these vital areas. READ: thetimes.com/article/3a5570… 🧵 1/7

Wes Streeting, “admitted his fears over the state of maternity services which gave him “in the pit of my stomach, a degree of anxiety”. He committed to meet bereaved parents to hear their concerns if his party is elected on July 4.”

Testing for ecoli in upper reaches of River Cleddau and in Haverfordwest. Six tests from a UkAS accredited lab. All tests positive over 2 week period which suggests raw sewage still entering river even in dry weather. This is a public health issue and all water users are at risk

@Dr_Pam_Jarvis Check out Prof Richard Murphy @RichardJMurphy to see why you don't have to pay more tax to get a decent NHS. That is NOT how the economy works. It's called Modern Monetary Theory - the money is made after policy is set. It's just that the last Govt does not want to fund health.

@EmilyJBarley @Alex_Stafford @JakeBenRichards Really fed up of the narrative that med. neg. lawyers are harming the NHS. They do a valuable job and many that we've dealt with are empathetic people who care passionately about helping parents.

Sad to see @Alex_Stafford, who has known me since we were candidates together in 2019 and was our MP while I was LOTO at Rotherham Council, stoop this low. In his rush to attack @JakeBenRichards, he has forgotten who clinical negligence legal advocacy is for.

As the date of the next #GeneralElection approaches, we call on the next government to uphold human rights in maternity care for everyone. 📣We need new legislation to put an end to a system in crisis. Learn more at: bit.ly/blogSAFEACT.

So now we have nurses as well as GPs & junior doctors literally unable to find jobs in a catastrophically understaffed NHS - because @NHSEngland & @DHSCgovuk in their wisdom have chosen instead to pack the NHS with cut-price, less well-trained substitutes. Sheer madness.
Shaun Lintern@ShaunLintern

Newly qualified nurses unable to find jobs in the NHS while hospitals cut posts and substitute nurses for nursing associates.

Tell me @RishiSunak how you can possibly look NHS patients in the eye when we now have unemployed GPs forced to drive Ubers because you’re erasing new GP posts from general practice? Are you aware of this debacle, @wesstreeting? Will you stop it?
Animesh Singh@DrAnimeshSingh

Took an Uber home on Tuesday evening from Central London. The person driving was a qualified GP unable to get work. Post CCT, 100+ applications / CV drops to salaried roles around Herts & Bucks.

FINALLY the @rcgp has called for a halt on any further recruitment of PAs as doctor substitutes in general practice. Heartfelt thanks to all frontline & senior staff who’ve fought for standards in medicine & patient safety. Shame on the leaders who haven’t.

Keep the Horton General has written an open letter to Victoria Prentis about use of our Birth Trauma Dossier in her GE campaign. We have not been approached by Mrs Prentis about the contents or what must be done. KTHG must be included in plans for Horton maternity as promised

As everyone is claiming love for the NHS while campaigning we wonder if the Climate Party candidate supports KTHG's environmental concerns about so many pregnant mothers having to drive to Oxford from Banbury for the smallest checks. See our Birth Trauma Dossier @climate_banbury

@EmilyJBarley This is a political decision! The government has systematically defunded the NHS by c£2bn a year. It is so worn out staff have left. This should be reversed at the earliest opportunity.

@saveourhorton My comment is not on Banbury specifically, but the national picture - and it certainly is true that we don't have enough obstetric consultants to staff a maternity unit in every small town. We don't even have enough nationally to staff the units we've got.

I've thought for a while now that we need a full redesign of how maternity services are delivered, including difficult geographic decisions - because with staffing pressures it's not feasible to have proper, safe, consultant led services in every small town...

The stories about John Radcliffe maternity care collected by the Keep the Horton General Group are really shocking. This is a story of national importance, not just local concern. banburyguardian.co.uk/health/collect…
