@mkoenalonso Thanks for reading & sharing our work. As you probably know, WCPFC is unique in a few key ways so your point about other RFMOs is important. We are currently working on a study investigating participation in-depth across all the tuna RFMOs so stay tuned! ☺️

From this we conclude:
Current company involvement in meetings is not negatively affecting negotiation decisions & may even help ensure sustainable tuna fisheries in this region when agendas are aligned.

All tropical tuna stocks in this region are currently healthy & management of tuna fisheries improved during the study period.
In this regard, our findings support past research highlighting the critical role of #PacificIsland states in pushing for stronger management measures.
