Leigh: "In our original movie, instead of killing people, he was putting people through these tests, wanting to see if they could earn what they had. If you can come up with something you feel like you haven't seen before, then you've got something." Watch this (saw)space!👀

James: "We knew that if we were to do something more in the horror space, we still wanted it to be 'smart.' So much of the film was like how do we hide this twist of an ending? For the new one, Leigh & I are going to make it. I don't want to say too much. It's very early still."

Leigh: "The movie's like this puzzle box where you're putting pieces together and certain pieces don't make sense until you lock into another piece later. And then if we can do that well enough, it's like the sleight of hand with close-up magic. At the end, it'll be a surprise."

James: "When we had @officialtobin slam the door & say, 'Game over' we really meant game over. It was game over until box office opening wknd. I remember the producers going, 'Hey boys, this is not game over.' We wanted it to be clever in some way. An ending that would grab you."

Like old times. Reunited at @sundancefest! James: "We definitely want to hark back to the spirit of the original film. We want to make another scary #Saw movie. We want to be mindful and be respectful of what fans have learned about the soapy nature of the entire franchise."

@Brandon85782022 @Saw Costas, Cary, Shawnee and Tobin all want to return but it's not yet clear what James and co have planned and who they want writing it.

James: "For me to finally come back to it, I feel I can return with a new perspective. If you’re a scumbag, but you appreciate your life, Jigsaw doesn’t see you as someone who’s wasting your life, so I want to go back to what we touched on in the first movie with regard to that."

@Werey38 @JoshNitsche Yes, a third game is in active development but I haven't posted about it because there's zero information beyond that. I expect it to coincide or even tie in in some way with the new movie.
