It’s been exactly a year since my father left us forever. I don’t usually talk about it online because everyone’s grieving process is different. But today has been emotionally overwhelming day for me as the flashbacks of last year are running on loop. I feel his absence everyday, in different ways. Past one year has been all about adjusting to this new reality that on most days feels like a nightmare that I can’t escape. I’ve been angry at the world, at God for a really long time for his untimely departure. He left us way too early in life. There’s not a single day gone by when I haven’t missed him. They say that you understand the value of something when that thing is gone. For me, that’s my father protecting, providing for our family in ways I couldn’t realise as a kid. My heart still doesn’t believe he’s truly gone. If God exists, I hope he’s looking over our family. I hope my father is resting in peace. I love you and miss you forever papa ❤️🙏🏻

@shabarish_99 its not about low level programming ...it’s about knowing the fundamentals beneath the abstraction.

@sbhm_prksh Do you think low level programming and deep systems engineering will be very valuable in the future

@sbhm_prksh What are the highest-lever skills that AI engineers should be focusing on? Are there any courses anyone would recommend to continue leveling up? Thanks for the insights in advance.

@sbhm_prksh Why? Ask yourself this! If in 2-3 years the AI gets any better, why would you need SWE that understand at the bare-metal? Any questions anyone might ask, the AI will be able to answer so why would you need expertise? Everyone is trying to cope, but let’s not lie to each other!

@sbhm_prksh Counter-intuitive but probably right. When AI handles the boilerplate, the premium shifts to people who understand why things break at a fundamental level. Abstraction layers multiply, and someone has to understand what's underneath.

Startup Idea: Build a database of people who get laid off because of AI. Like today, 4k people got laid off at Block. This is just the start. I'm thinking: - Track every layoff in real time. - Help recruiters find them Ship it

Agree with most of what @deepigoyal and @sbikh say about the gig economy and strongly support the model. But an honest question...are we doing everything right for gig workers? or is there something we can still improve? Not taking sides...just opening a discussion.
