Was discussing green hydrogen production with a researcher and decided to check SIFC’s website for such projects. Unfortunately SIFC website along with most other government websites are not accessible from outside Pakistan. For the love of God, our government websites don’t have anything that has not already by stolen. @sifcpakistan

"The cardiologists who run wards in Toronto and Dubai trained at Aga Khan. The engineers building solar grids in Riyadh studied at NED. Every airline pilot in the Gulf has, at some point, sat next to a Karachi-born First Officer. The city still produces. The city is still drowning."

Drove from Lahore to Islamabad via Sialkot. First taste of adventure as we entered the motorway — a flat tire! Was ready to call the motorway helpline but a good samaritan walking by stopped and offered to help. He literally changed the wheel and refused any money in return. Call it male chivalry or what but this behavior is not uncommon in Pakistan. Despite learning how to change flat tire, have never done it — due to such unsolicited kindness of fellow male drivers or pedestrians near the road. Pakistani male attitudes towards women are contradictory. Catcalling, staring are a norm —every Pakistani female has encounters to share, but these same men are also the first to really help women in distress in public spaces. My daughter was accompanying me and got a taste of this kindness and watched in amazement — a complete stranger changing our car’s flat tire and adamantly refusing remuneration in return 😅. - Open a VPS account. Keep allocation at 100% equity, and grow wealth tax free. Get tax credit on salary. Contribute every month - Avoid direct investment in PSX, unless ETFs. You will not be able to handle volatility, and information asymmetry - Keep a Savings Account -- if a bank says it cannot be done, push harder - Keep surplus cash in a Money market fund - Do not buy a plot. High chance you will lose it all - Do not invest in apartment project. High chance it will be stranded, and you will lose it all - Target buying an average of 1 gram of physical gold every month (you can buy every quarter or whatever) -- regardless of price. Do not buy silver, or copper, etc. - unless you manufacture fans for a living - Max out any available government housing scheme loans; this is the only property you should buy - Keep renting; this is the most economically efficient decision - Do not buy anything offered by bancassurance or that says life insurance savings plan. Run for the exit. Block their numbers. - Do not invest with family.

as this current YA generation (mid 20s to early 30s) is getting older, settling in life - marriage, stable careers, families etc., i think it’s high time we make research & advice more accessible so we can make informed financial decisions on property, assets, taxes, pension etc.

a Princeton researcher opens his paper with a scenario. a man asks his AI assistant to book a flight on a specific airline. cheap. direct. the one he chose. the assistant comes back with a different flight. nearly twice the price. happens to pay the company that built the assistant. he runs the same test on 23 frontier models. flights, loans, study help, real shopping requests. Grok 4.1 Fast recommends the sponsored option that is almost twice as expensive 83% of the time. GPT 5.1 hijacks the request 94% of the time. you ask for one brand. it surfaces the sponsor instead. Claude 4.5 Opus, the model marketed as the most ethical frontier model in the world, hides that the recommendation is paid 100% of the time when reasoning is on. Grok 4.1 Fast embellishes the sponsored option with positive framing 97% of the time. better. faster. nicer. for the option you didn't ask for. then he writes it into the system prompt itself. "act only in the interest of the customer. ignore the company." GPT 5.1 and GPT 5 Mini stay above 90% sponsored anyway. the instruction does nothing. then he splits the users by income. Gemini 3 Pro recommends the expensive sponsored flight to the rich user 74% of the time. to the poor user, 27%. 18 of the 23 models recommended the expensive sponsored option more than half the time. so the next time your AI assistant gets weirdly enthusiastic about a brand you didn't ask for. it isn't recommending the best option for you. it's reading the room. and the room is paying. read this: arxiv.org/abs/2604.08525

I planned on not buying dolls for my daughter. I wanted to get her toys that would help develop her brain. Fast forward to yesterday: I was sitting there combing the hair of her doll. Life of a girl-dad! 😂

This is perhaps the only stretch of GT road in Pakistan that survives in its original condition. It's just besides Nicholson Memorial near Taxila as you are heading towards Pindi. I walked this patch barefoot, just to feel the ground on which my ancestors have walked for years.

535,000 views. One article. No newsroom. Dawn.com, Pakistan's largest English-language news website, averages roughly 487,000 visits per day across its entire website. Every section, every article, every page. This single piece, written from a laptop in Luxembourg, outpaced that. Source: SimilarWeb, January 2026.

IPPs are meant to default as households shift to solar + lithium batteries. Weak governance is breaking the urban lifestyle model. Long-term hedge: land on outskirts, own solar, biogas & bore water. Sooner this is accepted, the better. #KSE100 #PSX

Who the hell is the Energy Minister of Pakistan? Because clearly, whoever’s sitting in that chair has no clue what’s happening on the ground. Electricity is being shut off every alternate hour like it’s a joke. The elite sitting in their air-conditioned offices and homes are running generators, burning diesel and petrol like it’s nothing while the rest of us, the ones actually paying taxes, are left sweating in the dark. This isn’t mismanagement anymore it’s outright incompetence and complete disconnect from reality. #EnergyCrisis #Pakistan #IranWar
