@sbjayne At the time Spectacular and Web of were really overlooked and both were cooking with Sal and Alex Saviuk on their respective books. i have all the single issues but I need a reprint of the Spectacular Spidey Omni asap.

Hot take: Kraven's Last Hunt isn't even the best Spider-Man story by JM DeMatteis! I don't know why The Child Within isn't available in tpb or even on Marvel Unlimited. More people should be able to read this masterpiece. It's one of the greatest Spider-Man stories of all time!

@JCHester22 Conway/buscema/saviuk were awesome! I really think conway’s spectacular/web run is one of the all time great Spider-Man runs and it pushed saviuk into my top 3 artists behind romita and buscema! So underrated and hopefully we get an omnibus next year so more people can read it!

@EddieChingLives I’ll definitely be doing that once I finish his run. I just discovered a great Spider-Man podcast where they only talk about Spider-Man and they’ve interviewed JMD to talk about this run specifically

@sbjayne I highly recommend listening to any podcast interview from JM. What a wealth of knowledge, philosophy and perspective! He can’t help but drop GOLD every single interview!

@jponcedeleon12 Couldn’t agree more! If this was available as a thin trade, I’d recommend this for new readers over life story and Kraven’s last hunt. It’s THE Spider-Man story, in my opinion.

@sbjayne Wholeheartedly agree! This book needs to be in circulation as much as possible. Plus, Buscema's art isn't talked about as much as it should be.

@wale26660 Harry admitted that he wanted to kill Peter so Peter just stood there and I was like you want my life? TAKE IT! But Harry couldn’t do it. Its really great stuff and I highly recommend reading it. Issues #178-183 of Spectacular Spider-Man. #184 is a great aftermath too!

@AJ_Vertigo Those were my favourite moments from this arc. Buscema told a whole story with no dialogue. You could feel every emotion and expression! A true master!

@sbjayne Deadass one of, if not the greatest moment in comics for me At least for Spider-Man it is A small moment and yet there's so much happening without having dialogue!

@Snake_RIVER_90 Romita has always been my #1 so I get it! This arc though pushed Buscema to my #1 spot and I nearly felt bad putting him above romita tbh! But his art on conways SSM run blew me away but this arc, the child within, was just exceptional! If you haven’t fead it, I highly recommend!

@sbjayne Been reading Spider-man comics a lot recently, he's amazing for sure. My personal favorite would be probably John Romita Sr, but i like JR jr as well, Bagley did a fantastic job in Ultimate Spider-Man. Gil Kane is another great one for sure ❤️. Which issue is that one?

@sbjayne Marvel is super dumb they added two versions of Spectacular Spider-Man for some reason add the second one to your library it’s there not the one with the tarantula cover!

@sbjayne No, it continues in the main book after that first part. It’s fucking insane. Beyond the tragic stuff with Vermin, this part straight up BROKE me. I wasn’t even that mad about OMD when I got back into Spidey with Spider-Island, but bringing Harry back? Heartbreaking ending.
