Local LLMs are crazy fun lately. I've been having a lot of fun with Qwen3.6 35B in copilot. Now it's even easier with `omlx launch copilot` 🤣.

oMLX 0.3.9.dev2 released. Highlights: - Gemma 4 MTP on the vision path (thanks to @Prince_Canuma's mlx-vlm). Image+text decodes much faster now - Gemma 4 on the DFlash engine (thanks to @bstnxbt's dflash-mlx) - ParoQuant support - omlx launch copilot joins claude / codex / opencode / openclaw / pi - Restart server button right in the admin UI - oQ auto-builds a proxy when the model can't fit in RAM Plus a lot of bug fixes and 20 new contributors in this cycle. Thanks everyone! github.com/jundot/omlx/re…

@Meligy @GitHubCopilot You can run `copilot --disable-builtin-mcps` to disable the bundled/builtin MCP servers. My workaround to have it as the "default" behavior is to alias copilot to copilot with the flag/option in my shell's config file.

Last night at the hotel before flying tomorrow night to Sydney. I got to try how @GitHubCopilot CLI prerelease looks. One minor annoyance. The GitHub MCP option seems like a builtin that cannot be disabled, using context without any need (because all I want can be done by gh CLI)

Introducing RubberDuck in Copilot CLI: a new builtin subagent for cross model family escalations. Sonnet will now proactively solicit input from GPT 5.4 and vice versa. In our most difficult benchmark subsets, this results in a massive 5% improvement in resolution rates

@WispyWinter @0xSero If you use Anthropic’s Agent SDK it’s a n API wrapper around Claude Code (so it still uses their harness under the hood). ACP is also using Claude Code as a backend. I think when you call the APIs directly (not through Claude code) it is the main issue.

@0xSero Weren't there issues with using your Claude sub with an non Claude harness?

@burkeholland @github Back in my day at 10 years old 🤣, QBASIC's `INKEY$` was the greatest discovery ever for making ascii games in the terminal.🤔

A 10 year old used @GitHub Copilot to build his own arcade of mini games. Can you imagine being able to do this when you were 10? Pure magic. natorade.com

I'm a little new to the CLI game - admittedly - but I do not understand how you people survive with just a terminal. Madness. Don't you wanna see the git timeline? Don't you ever look at the files in the project? DO YOU NOT USE DEV CONTAINERS?!?!

@burkeholland I think it’s to maintain ordering or stderr and stdout so the agent can reason over the text in the order that things happened. Otherwise they would have to reason over 2 separate outputs that removed how they appear interweaved.

I'm learning so much from watching agents do all my work. Like what the heck does 2>&1 do and why is it on every single terminal command.

@thdxr An interesting one is VS Code supports mixing remote and client side MCP servers. So it enables running devtools or playwright mcp locally to drive the browser while other MCPs can run remote to have access to the filesystem. I think it would be a nice to have in opencode

fyi i'm working on this as usual primitives first - you can bring whichever approach you want: worktrees, docker, cloud machines, whatever it's very hard, esp to do it without requiring a central server and have things work even if your laptop turns off
dax@thdxr

i'm working on the idea of every session running in a "workspace" workspaces can be local or remote (docker, cloud sandboxes like cf sandbox, your own vm whatever) and then your primary opencode session on laptop can be shut down and reopened and the remote workspaces will have continued
