Can someone convince me I’ve got a SLAP? Shoulder has been ‚strange‘ for around 10-12 months. Initially intermittent pain ++ taking scrub top off over my head. Went away. But had persistent odd ‚sucky‘ feeling- standing with arms folded could never relax and let shoulder sink as it felt like it was ‚pulling a vacuum’ in the joint (not painful, just super weird). Then started having issues - couldn’t hold the arm high abducted without aching, and stuff like reaching behind me into the backseat of the car was agony. Stupidly I tried a tennis serve playing with the kids - nearly killed me. All good, just rest it I thought. Then ski accident, whole arm inc shoulder was FUBAR for a while but now basically back to where I was…. Shoulder has baseline 1/10 anterior deltoid pain just anteromedial to the acrimon. Unexpected forced external rotation is painful, but goes away quickly. Internal rotation not dissimilar. Sleeping on my side on that shoulder a no go… No clear Hx trauma - except maybe 10-15 years ago I caught a piece of luggage that fell out of an SUV trunk when I opened the hatch. Heavy, caught in full abduction and external rotation. Spent 2 weeks in a makeshift sling just ignoring it. Did I Bankart myself back then, and now paying for it? SLAP? Don’t have a good shoulder colleague locally. Did get it looked at and jabbed with steroid - did nothing and don’t feel like they really did a meaningful exam. Who’s got time for an MRI?! Shoulder exercises and just suck it up? #orthotwitter
