@schaferstrategy I agree, things are stubbornly ticking along still. No doubt it will take a while for the penny to drop (excuse the pun). Credit cards allow 'normal' spending to continue. However, credit limits will be reached quickly if prices keep increasing the way they are.

@English___Quiz The possibility of increased postage costs is a real worry, Royal Mail medium parcel is £7 now. That will be a huge smack in the face, to all those who sell online. Many of whom were forced to, after brick & mortar overheads became too much.

Therefore, spare cash is quickly squeezed to smaller and smaller amounts. Then throw in increased council tax, for instance.
If spare cash isn't available, independent businesses will lose customers at a rapid rate.
