The first shipment of SA apples arrived in Shenzhen, China on May 1st. Under the zero tariff treatment, the 24 tons of SA apples enjoyed a tariff reduction of around 50,000 Rand. We welcome more products of SA to reach the Chinese market and hope the policy will better benefit our two peoples.

Sweden is committing more than €100 million to a sweeping classroom overhaul: replacing tablets and screens with traditional printed textbooks to help reverse falling student performance and sharpen focus. After more than a decade of embracing digital-first education, Swedish authorities are now pivoting back to paper-based learning. Official data and recent studies cited by the Ministry of Education show that prolonged screen use in class has been linked to shorter attention spans, weaker reading comprehension, and reduced critical-thinking abilities. Research consistently finds that reading on illuminated screens requires greater mental effort and invites more distractions compared to the calm, linear experience of physical books—factors believed to have contributed to declining academic outcomes in recent years. Under the new plan, every student will receive printed textbooks for all core subjects, restoring books as the central learning tool. Digital devices and online resources will remain available as supportive tools, but they will no longer dominate daily instruction. This bold €100+ million investment signals Sweden’s leadership in rethinking the role of technology in education. It underscores a broader, growing recognition worldwide: while screens provide speed and access, the hands-on, distraction-free engagement of physical books supports deeper concentration, stronger memory retention, and more effective long-term learning. By choosing paper over pixels, Sweden is charting a path toward a more balanced, evidence-informed classroom future—one that puts proven pedagogical principles ahead of unchecked digital trends.

Helen Zille Is Missing the Point — And South Africans Know It South Africans don’t switch off their conscience when issues are “far away.” Responding to Helen Zille, Ml Sulaimaan Ravat argues that the DA’s and Zille’s position — focus locally, avoid division, and wait for legal processes — doesn’t hold. Firstly, South Africa is a product of international solidarity — sanctions and global pressure helped end apartheid. Secondly, moral positions don’t require court rulings. The DA has condemned countries like Russia and Iran without waiting. Thirdly, this goes beyond terminology. The concern is the DA’s reluctance to hold Israel accountable as the occupying power, often creating a false equivalence between Israelis and Palestinians. Fourthly, this is not a religious divide. Jews, Christians, and people of no faith have all been vocal in their criticism of Israel. Finally, South Africans judge both governance and values. Service delivery matters — but so does moral clarity. That’s why this issue continues to follow the DA.

Brilliant. The hypocrisy and sophistry is astounding. 73 000 civilians, including childrenj murdered - a war crime - and not a single word of condemnation. An ICC fugitive and no demands for his arrest. Unconscionable. The DA has never “waited” for any international court to rule before condemnation. Ever. No court has ruled against Iran. No court has ruled against Putin. No court has ruled against Xi. And yet they are regularly condemned, and correctly so, when gross human rights abuses are revealed. What this reveals is quite stomach-churning. You are willing to compromise your principles if the price is right. You are willing to turn a blind eye - even to a genocide - if your palms are greased. There is no moral high ground on foreign policy you can ever claim again. You can be bought by rogue nations, just like you have accused the ANC of being. At least it is honest about where it stands. Stand on business.

On the other hand, seems like white people have turned against Hellen Zille and the DA😅🚨🚨🚨

🚨 BREAKING CEASEFIRE UPDATES 🚨 "We are disappointed with how US behaved. Netanyahu's call to Vance during the meeting shifted the focus from US-Iran negotiations to Israel's interests. The U.S. tried to achieve at the negotiating table what it could not achieve through war. We came here with good faith, the press conference by Vance before he left Pakistan was unnecessary, we are committed & prepared to safeguard our nation's interest and sovereignty"- Iran FM Seyed Abbas Araghchi
