@rhea_prad and I have been tracking our @NYTGames (Wordle, Connections and the Mini) for the past two years. I decided to analyze our 4,200 gameplays with #rstats to determine a winner and made some festively embroidered charts with ggplot. Have a read (link in reply).

Benford's Law does say that smaller digits are more common, but what's more interesting is the fact that the distribution it proposes stays almost exactly the same across datasets!

I did a few dork searches to find instances of AI-generated text in government documents. Not that they were better before, but since we have an incentive structure of length equal to rigor right from schools means that institutional generation of slop was inevitable. 🔗 below.

Still feel like I could improve the viz in the dropdown but right now I'm jut focusing on getting stuff "good enough" to share. Funny how everything is like 80% of the way to what I want it to be but you wouldn't quite be able to tell by just looking at it.

The grid uses a wave function collapse algorithm to generate a connected city grid from a few hand-drawn tiles. The inspiration is from idle-style games which run in the background as the user is busy elsewhere. As more time is spent on the page, more tiles are added to the grid

The current project I'm working on is revamping my personal site - my corner of the internet where I plan to share my thoughts, niche interests and what I'm currently working on - which I will soon dread updating. With the most recent addition being the site footer:

I've been meaning to work more in public, posting snippets of my progress on side projects and things I find interesting along the way. Hopefully having things out in the open might help others pick and steal their favourite bits or spark some new ideas.
