California obeys environmentalists and mystics over scientists. Natives who couldn't read or write knew how to reduce fire risk yet California politicians go out of their way to not have water stored, to not clear brush, and ban removal of dead trees. In a state 75% arid.
The Wall Street Journal@WSJ

From @WSJopinion: Gavin Newsom is raising alarms on climate change again—and getting basic facts wrong. Global warming isn’t behind California’s wildfires, and fires around the world are declining, writes @BjornLomborg. on.wsj.com/3Nv1YKE

'Meet me where I am' social justice pandering was promoted by educators and unions. The same group that undid the only federal education program that ever worked and replaced it with their own Common Core. Now some teachers are defying their own political tribe to...teach

The IEA is like IARC or Special Rapporteurs. Entirely French but wrapped up in the UN brand because that reeks of legitimacy to people who hate science and the poor.

California is critical of MAHA but is even more anti-science. We had to advocate for 10 years to get a law banning capricious vaccine exemptions due to coastal progressives not getting their kids immunized. Now rulers want to ban science that has never harmed anyone.

These collapsed lungs suddenly so prevalent in athletes are not due to "collisions", they are caused by an alternative medicine fad.

That tells you how awful committees that give awards are. Not that he was right. He was verifiably, empirically wrong. On everything. As for peer reviewed, so was Andrew Wakefield claiming vaccines cause autism, and Tyrone Hayes claiming weedkillers turned frogs gay.

This from Paul Ehrlich will make you think "If I'm always wrong so is science, since my work is always peer-reviewed, including the POPULATION BOMB and I've gotten virtually every scientific honor." Link in reply

For the decades that academia had access to unlimited student loans and raised tuition 3000% over inflation to milk young people, univerisities didn't mind community colleges for 'lesser' students. But with the exploitation gravy train ending, they are now at war with CCs too.

Mann was always loose with facts, like when he chose to 'hide the decline' and Frankenstein together his temperature hockey stick, but his affection for a crazy doomsday prophet explains why.

with fellow death cult believer John Holdren, scientists made sure there was enough food to increase the population 100% - after he wrote his book. Instead of the mass famine he predicted, for the first time in world history, poor people could afford to be fat.

Paul Ehrlich, the doomsday Pied Piper of anti-science activists and author of "The Population Bomb", has died at 93. Science never accepted his Malthusian belief system. Rather than accept rationing and mandatory birth control, as he advocated in "Ecoscience"
